In a not too distant future, the rapid advancement of technology has allowed man's common dream of colonizing distant planets become reality. With need of further natural resources and living space, the human race rapidly expands.

Unprepared for the scale of development, the Federation, overseer for the process of colonizing the universe, limit the selling of 'terra-forming' permits. Outraged by the decision, powerful mega corporations begin holding an authoritarian rule on their very own planets. The full autonomy of these new worlds soon creates a safe haven for criminal activity and bringing down the ederation is their number one priority.
For a little more than 12 months the Federation's special division has led an investigation into the ever more frequent case of government officers being confronted by criminals, commonly found under the influence of an as yet unknown stimulant. Based of synthetic enzymes, the substance causes the fearless, aggressive, trigger-happy and pain resistant hitmen to wreak havoc, and the problem is now spreading.

Created with the purpose of ridding the planetary system of global hazards and crisis situations endangering the Federation's stability, the elite strike unit Chrome: SpecForce has finally caught a break in the investigation.

Armed with the latest military technology in combat, designed with Special Forces in mind, the SpecForce field agents equip themselves with SPA4 Power Armour, the main element of a SpecForce field agent's operational equipment and vital to mission success. Build collected on the original image Microsoft Windows XP Professional SP3 Russian version + any necessary updates on June 15, 2009.

The corporate version, does not require activation.
Upgrade from an older OS NOT SUPPORTED. Only to install from scratch!
The disc is designed primarily for "clean" install from a bootable CD.
Installation is performed either automatically or in normal mode. You only need to select the section which will be installed, and choose: format the partition or not.
Entering the serial number of the Multiboot not required! The key set is in the ReadMe.txt file in the root directory.

In the present dual-boot:

Unattended Chip Windows XP SP3 Rus 2009.07 - The system is put in fully automatic mode, you only need to select the partition on which to stand system, the driver put machine during the installation. It is possible to choose the driver to install.
Standard installation of Chip Windows XP SP3 Rus (Recovery Console) - Typical installation of Chip Windows XP SP3 2009.07 Rus (Manual input their data). 3. Updated Media Player Classic 6.4.9.1 build 101 Rus to build 104.
4. Removed from the distribution folder DOCS, DOTNETFX, SUPPORT, VALUEADD, also cleaned up the folder LANG, WIN9XMIG, WIN9XUPG.
5. Added program CDClose - adds a context menu listing the items "Open, Close DVD / CD drive"
6. Left only with the integrated system is the default programs and the most necessary drivers, which can accommodate a CD drive.

Summary: Hybrid approach to Photoshop, but not for everyone

This book is unique in a sense that half of the book is written in a project-oriented way. In other words, you should know to do this when you want to get this effect. Top down or objective-driven approach. Another half of the book is centered around what each function offers, what CS4 version offers, etc., in other words, bottom up. Photoshop is a big software and both approaches have merit, but there is always a limit to how far each approach can go. However, I feel there are some gaps that aren't filled between the two presentation approaches taken in this book, and this probably frustrates readers of all levels. Nonetheless, I've learned a few new things by flipping this book and reading some sections of it.

The publisher likes to sell books, so they publish a new one with each release eof the product. If you have the book for CS3, there is not a whole lot new in this one. Having said that though, there are some new features, and that, along with the info from previous versions, makes this a great reference book.

A solid reference for stepping into the world of Photoshop. While I don't have CS4 (I have CS3) it was still easy to follow along and perform the majority of the examples. Great instructions with detailed images of your task.

The internet has so much to offer, a single google search on a particular photoshop question will return you thousands of results and for the most part for free. Given this, a book needs to really stand out and this one does as a great reference and works well for those looking for "at your pace" tutorials.

Summary: Movies, good screenshots, but unremarkable

Cons
- Some of the tutorials/chapters are hard to follow, like a step or two, or an explanation of why we're highlighting that portion of the image is missing.

Other information:
- This book like many of its kind, uses a MAC for the screen shots, but the differences between the OS X and Windows versions are not significant to negatively impact the reading if you're using Windows.
- The book name is generic and misleading "CS4 essential skills", as well as quotes used "The one Photoshop CS4 book to own". The book is strictly about photography, and photoshop does a lot more than that. Just wanted to make it clear that it's strictly about editing photos. (I already knew this, but if you picked up the book on a store it's hard to tell)

Overall the book is good, provides a nice overview of the new features of CS4, but is overall fairly unremarkable.

Summary: I saw Kairol Rosenthal at a book reading in Chicago . . .

. . . she came across just like she does in her book -- a little bit wry and sarcastic, always empathetic, very passionate, and unflinchingly honest.

The author sought out interviews of a very diverse group of young people with cancer, and was able to extract very wide range of very compelling experiences. The book is a great mix of the gritty and terrible experience of having cancer, as well as the the absurdities and banalities of life with cancer -- of life dealing with the health care system -- and life in general -- thrown in.

The author is also a strong advocate for expanding health care. She participated in a very interesting interview in September 2009 on "Fresh Air" with Terry Gross where she addressed some of her personal experiences trying to navigate the often-treacherous waters of the uninsured/underinsured in America. That interview is well worth the listen -- seek it out.

I highly recommend this book to anyone with an interest in compelling personal stories, even if you don't have cancer. It is even more interesting if you have cancer or if you know someone with cancer, especially a person who is under 40, and for anyone with an interest in the ongoing public health-care debate.

In the interest of full disclosure - I know Kairol, but I assure you I wouldn't post this review if I didn't believe everything I just wrote.

I myself am a cancer survivor, having battled lymphoma for several years. I came across this book late in my experience, a few years after I reached a long term remission. The book is filled with interviews of young adults who tell their private stories in their battles with cancer. I found their experiences to be interesting, and very close to my heart since I too, had experienced many of their struggles such as with work, dating and living with my parents.

There were a couple of thoughts that settled in my mind after I finished reading this. First off, this book is referenced as "the insider's guide to cancer in your 20s and 30s." It is clearly not a guide. A guide is a handbook, a tool to help you navigate the unexpected or unfamiliar. My question is how many newly diagnosed cancer patients in their 20s and 30s buy a book like this once they hear of their shocking diagnosis. I certainly didn't. The First thought was "what the ^%$^*(#" and not, "i guess I'll look up a book on how to navigate the waters of cancer in my 20s." There is so much more than that when you're diagnosed. Which brings me to my next point.

By the time a patient ends up reading this book, he or she have most likely gone thru so much to know what has worked for them and what hasn't. The book, although a good read from the interviews stand point, fails to deliver what new patients needs at a timely manner, not because of the book's fault but because patient's instincts especially young ones are not to resort to a book when they're immediately diagnosed. Sometimes the treatment happens so quickly after diagnosis that you don't have time to read anything. You're relying many times on the hospital and staff to help you thru. A guide remains relevant if the info is delivered to the patient at the right time. The info here is not delivered in the right medium. It is better suited for the web or a podcast. When I read it, I skipped through all the pages that were the "guide" part because I didn't find it relevant or helpful. There was nothing in there that I didn't know already 4-8 months into my cancer experience.

Secondly, I was hoping the author would be the one telling patients and families what to do and how to do it thru her personal experiences (it's her guide right) yet she simply details a dry laundry list of names and contacts of other places to connect with if you need more help. So, I bought a guide to then connect and seek more guidance Isn't this a bit like buying a restuarant guide to tell me which web sites or organizations to contact to figure out the best French or Chinese restaurant in town I was hoping the author would use in a creative way how she dealt with the issues by contacting place A or place B, but be it part of the narrative, not some plain list. She writes well yet the guide part was a bit disconnected and not as interesting of a read. I could have received similar contacts and names by calling local cancer organizations, charities or my social worker at the hospital.

As far as this book helping to guide those in a supporting role like friends and family, it could serve them well to know what 20s and 30s with cancer go thru. I think most people don't have a clue what the author and the interviewees really went thru with cancer so it's great to have a book about it.

I liked the quotes sprinkled around the pages, and the stories around the interviews such as how the author set them up and got to meet the patients. I really hoped though for more thorough descriptions of the author's experiences. She went through a lot and I was hoping to hear more of her issues with work, dating, sex, treatments, etc. If this book is by a cancer patient, then the author immediately brings credibility, yet there wasn't all that much about her. It would have been cool if she chose one patient to interview her.
